rectangle irregularity

Postby 2whldreams » Fri Jan 25, 2013 10:50 am

Greetings.
When making a rectangle and clicking on Edit paths to nodes>object to path, the rectangle created has 4 small squares on top and 4 small squares on the bottom-(duplication).
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Well that sounds like you've drawn a rounded rectangle and converted to path (Object to Path). But you didn't say what the problem is, or what you want instead.

Did you not want rounded corners? If that's the case, then before you convert to path, while you still have the Rectangle tool engaged, click the last button on the right, on the control bar -- "Make corners sharp" button. After you do that, you can do Object to Path, and you'll now have 4 cusp/corner nodes, rather than 8 smooth nodes.

Or if that's not the problem, please let us know what it is :D
