I've saved some .svg files as .pdf (both as Inkscape .svg and plain .svg) but when I print the PDF it only prints part of the image. Any thoughts?

Just realized it's something in the .svg file. It displays properly on the screen but even trying to print from the .svg file much of the image is missing.

Do you have images in your svg and are you sure they are embedded and not linked?

I'll guess that the page boundary is not set up correctly.

Please attach a copy of the file to examine.

Also please let us know if there are any masks in your image. Those can cause objects to not print with current Inkscape versions. Masks are commonly added on bitmap images with transparency in imported pdfs...

Workaround:
export to PNG, print that.

What isn't printing are large parts of a repetitive pattern that was copied and pasted to create a larger area with the pattern. After all the "pieces" were in place and trimmed to fit within a border they were grouped. Again, it views properly but when printed the pasted areas don't print.

How did you do the 'trimming'? What kind of pattern? Can you share a file? Until we have that, we can only guess, and that's not going to help you much, unless you know how to check for what we guess, and you know how to fix that.
