Anti-bot question not good for foreign newbies.

Postby Muzietto » Wed Feb 11, 2015 7:41 pm

I was asked the position of the tweak tool icon in order to be able to subscribe to this forum.
My interface is localized in Italian and there is no way to tell what's the tweak tool by looking/hovering at it.
I had to google a couple of minutes to find a page in english featuring the icon of the tool.

Such a question hiders heavily the entrance to any newbie not computer/english literate.
If this is the intention, then why bother to translate inkscape menus in the first place?

Thank for your attention.

While inkscape is translated, this forum was dedicated to be in english.
There is an italian forum I know of but no other.

Not sure how many of those not english literates are out there, but at least it prevents automated spam.

I have a hungarian interface and although I didn't have to answer such a question at the time I joined, it's not always easy to come up with the right jargon.
All comes down to there are translated versions of inkscape, and that you can get more focused support in english.
Resulting you may get more focused support if you use the english interface.

You make it really really hard for new members to join, do you even want some?

A Anti-Bot Qestion about Inkscape that takes half an hour to understand what is ment, i personally did it via try and error. Unreadable captchas. I needed at least 50 captchas before i could nearly guess a letter.
If you make anything wrong you arent blocked for a few minutes or a day, you are blocked for weeks maybe for ever with that accountname/email.
You offer a part in the forum for registration issues but you forbid for unregistered members to write anything in that area, nor could you contact an admin or mod without an account. Where is the sense for the registration issues area then?

You should really change something at your registration system!

Greetings from an annoyed
