How do you remove handle

Postby VvaderV » Thu Dec 22, 2011 11:11 pm

Hi guys im new to inkspace, firstly yhis looks a fantastic program to use i have used CS for many years.

The problem i have is if you are drawing round a picture to make a path - in photoshop or illustrator you could click on the end point of the handle to remove that point which enables you to acurately draw round an object, i cant find a way to remove the end handle so the next starting point isnt half way along the line.

Many thanks

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhm, I think we have a situation where you are using terminology from other programs, which I've never used. This happens all the time, but usually there is enough other info contained in the question which allows me to guess what you're asking. But in this case, I can't quite make the leap. Are you able to provide a screenshot? You know how the picture often tells a story which words can't. Thanks :D

Try pressing shift-L and shift-U as you draw to toggle back and forth between cusp nodes and smooth nodes. This might be the function you are describing.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Awesome, I'm glad you and druban worked it out!
Because there are actually 2 handles in your screenshot, and I was still gonna have to ask more questions

I like the bottom image you posted, that looks maybe like an icon or logo. Very interesting :D

Are those all made with Inkscape? You might want to consider opening an account at Open Clipart Library, if you have a lot of work to share (http://www.openclipart.org/). Or maybe you have them hosted somewhere else?
