Font Problem
Font Problem
I am having a problem using the font "Street Plain" in Inkscape. It appears in my list but when I select it, it automatically changes to Sans and of course looks different. "Street Plain" styled text will even appear in the preview window of the font dialog box, but I soon as I close the dialog the text switches to Sans. Also, the font has no problem working in other programs. Any ideas?
Re: Font Problem
Usually when there are font problems it's because of bad quality of fonts. Is there a place where we can download the font and test it ourselves?

Re: Font Problem
So I still need the font working. Can anybody help me out with a fix? I really really need this.
Re: Font Problem
which of the 17 Street fonts are you trying to use?
Re: Font Problem
I tried to download the set of fonts and both Windows and 7zip tells me the zip archive is corrupt....
Your mind is what you think it is.
Re: Font Problem
ESET scan says "archive damaged". (ESET is antivirus/antispyware real-time and scanner.)
That font looks like one that you could find elsewhere, in a more stable state, and of course under a different name and made by a different author/artist. I've had good experience with http://www.myfonts.com/. I've probably downloaded 30 or 40 free fonts from them, and only a couple were unstable and couldn't be used. But I think it's not unusual to find "bad" files of fonts around on the 'net, especially free ones. I suppose if you want dependably good fonts, with accountability of distributor or author/artist, you could buy them. And especially if you're in the printing industry, I think you'd want to go ahead an buy good fonts.
Good luck
