Intersecting lines in foreground and background

Postby Tumbleweed Baker » Mon Mar 18, 2013 10:50 pm

Hey everybody! I'm not certain I've phrased my problem properly, so I made a sketch. Is there any option to create this effect? (I just put white lines on top of the black ones where needed and felt kinda stupid doing it)

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

The Knots LPE has a setting to adjust how close or far that space is, where the lines cross over. But I haven't had much luck with it. If I recall, it seems to require at least 2 paths, which seems odd to me. If I were knotting a rope for example, and the rope is represented by the path. But it won't work on a single path. ....OORrrrrr....I could have that backwards. It's been awhile since I tried it. Anyway, it's not an easy tool to use.

Besides that, I'd say you'll just have to do node editing.
