In the below screenshot, there's a bitmap image of a circle cut into eight sections. I'd like to cut my black circle into eight similar sections with spacing between them. What is the correct operation to achieve this? Thanks.

Re: Help selecting a Boolean operation
Thanks but how do I convert to filled outlines? Is that different from converting to paths? If I convert to paths and then combine, the centre circle becomes hollow/unfilled so I guess that converting to filled outlines is different to converting to paths?

There are 2 conversions im the path menu and you need the second one: Convert Contour to Path - alt+cmd+C
