So, I´m now trying Inkscape (after using Illustrator) and have encountered some frustrating problems.
I have two Inkscape files, and I want to copy/cut out a object in one of them and move it to the other file. Problem is that when I cut out a object it doesnt come alone, but with a white square around it. In Illustrator you can copy single objects and the white square is not included per default, but how do you do it in inkscape?
Copy and paste in Inkscape

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
If you're using Inskcape on a Mac, it's a bug. Here's info about it: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... or_objects
If you're not on a Mac, please tell us what kind of object it is. After you select it, look at the status bar, to learn what kind of object it is
