I'm a Inkscape Newbee User. Im Want to create a Text Graphic Image for my T-shirt design to be upload online.
My problem is, i designed a text graphic image and save it to PNG, but when i uploaded online to paste on my online shirt editor it came out with the "White Background". Simply, I only need to paste the Text Graphic Image which i designed.
I browse some forums here about transparent background, yet since im a newbee, i dont see any clear step-by-step method on how to make or create and save a Text Graphic Image only.
Inkscape Experts! i need your help. Thank you so much!
How Remove and Save Text Graphic image without Background?
Re: How Remove and Save Text Graphic image without Backgroun
The proper way to get a PNG of your drawing is to use the Export Bitmap dialogue (Shift + Ctrl + E), don't use Save as... for this.
How will you use your image on T-shirts exactly? I thought most services require EPS format for that.
BTW Welcome to the forum!

Re: How Remove and Save Text Graphic image without Backgroun
Ok, I have this same problem and just can't seem to get past it
Am trying to design a logo for my new website, have done the design in Inkscape and happy with it
When I save as, or export it, it continually gives me a white square behind my logo
I just cannot seem to get rid of it - ie like the lovely inkscape logo at the top of this page - my page has a blue back ground, and now I have this swful white square with a nice logo in ther middle
Please help if you can, thanks
Also, best dimensions for a website main logo?

Document properties (at far right of menu bar) is the place where you can set the page background color and transparency aswell.

Re: How Remove and Save Text Graphic image without Backgroun
Thanks, but if I save it as a .png I still get the white background
Even if I export it as a .png I get the same result
I managed to get it to work late last night, from memory from selecting only the items in the image then exporting a .png but surely it can't be such a manual process for something so incredibly common?

Re: How Remove and Save Text Graphic image without Backgroun
You don't necessarily have to change your doc background to get a PNG with transparent background. Actually, the Inkscape document background is transparent by default. Unless you've changed that, all you should need to do is use Export Bitmap, and any of the options (Selection, Drawing, Page or Custom).
If you're on a Mac, and you pasted any part of the logo into Inkscape from somewhere else, or even used Paste strictly within Inkscape, the object gets changed to raster. You can avoid that by using Duplicate instead of Copy/Paste. Here's more info, in case you have a Mac: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... fic_issues.
If that doesn't explain it....well, it sounds like you finally got what you wanted. But if you like, we'll be glad to look at the SVG, to find the problem. (Attach SVG file to your next reply, or upload wherever you choose and give us the link.)

Hi Brynn, thanks for this I got sidetracked, but it sounds like yo were right about the pasting factor
I will try duplicating, thanks for your link. I'll try that first and come back if I get stuck
