cutter jumping

Postby john luxford » Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:16 pm

I have a Liyu plotter/cutter, I use Inkscape (tried versions 0.47/48) and Signcut pro + plugins to run it. When I load a 300mm x 300mm clockface image into inkscape then send it to Signcut it appears perfect (checked in wire mode as well) - but when I cut the image, the whole image shunts across the vinyl by 3mm when it gets to around 200mm. this is not slip as it repeats exactly the same every time - anyone able to help please - getting very frustrated and wasting vynil. - john

Have now found the answer - (Hooray!!) - I changed the USB device (In device manager) to a vacant COM port 2 instead of COM port 3, I also changed the page size from A4 to 300mm x 300m custom size in File/Page set up. Now cuts very well with no deviations.(Running this machine on Windows XP.) - Hope it helps anyone with the same problem.I think it was the page setup that did it but as I made bith alterations at once I'M NOT 100% SURE. - John
