How to paste a graphic from openoffice to inkscape?

Postby katraskabis » Tue Jan 11, 2011 4:04 pm

I made a bar graph in OpenOffice Calc, so I figure now is inkscape paste and ungroup your items for editing. But I can not even copy, please copy and paste and I get nothing on the score sheet ikscape. Someone can tell me how to copy and then ungroup the elements to achieve editing?

There is no normal way to do that because OOo Calc does not support SVG export which I personally consider a big downside of OOo. But hey, you can't expect much from a suite which fields rather poor drawing module (OOo Draw). SVG export has been long time requested feature for Calc.

Possible solutions:

0. [That's a new one for me!] Have nothing selected in your spreadsheet - single click on a chart - Copy - Inkscape: Paste
I couldn't get it working ever! Could it be that I used LibreOffice now..?

1. OOo -> PDF -> Inkscape
Not very elegant and gives very limited consistency and editing possibilities.

2. Export Calc charts to EPS using a macro
