I am trying to intersect photos with letters. The photos are png. I tried saving them as svg. Both ways do not work.

Anyone have experience with this...

Ok, just so I'm clear what you want -- in the end, you want some sort of block-like text which has the photo as its fill?
In general, it can't be done with Inkscape. Although there may be a filter which would create a similar effect....I'm not sure. But you could look through the filters. Otherwise, I would suggest the GIMP.

It can be done actually, just clip the photo with the text object above it. Just make sure you use Pixelsnap on the photo first so it doesn't get exported blurry, or snap it to the pixel grid.
