Not a problem just wondering when switching puters
I switch between using a laptop and a desktop to read the forums. For a while when ever I switch computers, I had to enter my log in by hand. Now it logs me in automatically from either computer. I notice DA makes me log in manually when ever I switch computers. Do you know why that is?

I'm not all that familiar with DA, but I would think that if you click "Log in automatically each visit" (or however it's worded there) the next time you log in with each computer, then thereafter, you should get an automatic login on both. Well, at least as long as your cookie is valid. If you have to delete cookies for some reason, you'll have to log in again though.

No. I've check that. I'm sure it has to do with the site settings.
Re: Not a problem just wondering when switching puters
You should only be getting logged in automatically if you checked the option "Log me on automatically each visit" when you logged in. It might be that the setting was carried across to both your laptop and desktop if phpBB allows sessions to be shared. In any case, if you log out it'll kill the session and if you don't select "Log me on automatically each visit" the next time you login it shouldn't keep you logged in.
Note that I believe there are FF plugins that allow you to synchronise your browser between two computers. If you have one of these installed it may allow you to login from one PC and have the browser on the other PC be logged in also.

Re: Not a problem just wondering when switching puters
AFAIK as long as your session status is stored in cookies (and that's the way it is for most of the web) your login status depends on the computer you're using. On one comp you login and it's stored on the comp in a cookie, on another you don't have a cookie that says you're logged in.
That is why cross site scripting can be dangerous if you don't patch those holes, someone can pull your cookie to his own comp and he will be logged in into that site under your name. Don't worry it's a known problem and most of websites are protected against it
