My svg file opens empty.

I spent days working on it. I opened it today and it was empty but the size of the file is still 12MB. Is there any way to recover my work? Is my file corrupted? Please help me. I can open it in wordpad in inkscape not

When you open it in Wordpad do you actually see any content? Does it look like an CSV file (hint: it'll contain lots of < and > symbols, and start with <svg )? What is on the very last couple of lines of the file?

If you can put the file somewhere for us to download you'll be able to get a more definitive answer.
