Can this be done?

I have imported GhostScript and installed it.

If I try to save as an .eps Inkscape will generate the file in the folder, say "Inkscape cannot save this as an eps" and quit. The file will be 0 kb.

The transparency is necessary.

Hello Shinjui,

I am really curious as to what you have made here. If you can save it as a pdf that will tell a bit. The problem could liein converting transparancies, but there shouldn't be anything to prevent saving to eps. Could you give a link to the file you are talking about, so we can have a look at what is in it? That would be helpful in figuring out what is going on.

file is at

http://shep.ca/temp/shipping_forecast_f ... plesvg.svg

requires raleway font, available as open source font at FontSquirrel but I have also put in same folder

http://shep.ca/temp/Raleway.zip

I have tried texturing by duplicating text and texturing it, layer on top of various shades blue with opacity at semi-transparent at varying degrees.

exports as PDF is fine.

Thanks for any help

I don't think there will be much you can do with transparency in eps... not with inkscape anyway.

If the image content is getting rasterized on save (filters, etc.), perhaps export to a png which will support transparency.

There might be an export to GIMP available to carryover layers and other bits of info: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12668
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
