Problem getting gradients right when pasting style

Postby Grobe » Sat May 05, 2012 12:52 am

Hi. I have an issue. It might be I doing something wrong or there might be a bug.

Anyway, by doing this I doesn't get the expected result:
  • Open Inkscape
  • Create any figure
  • Duplicate the figure and move the duplicate so it doesn't overlap the original figure.
  • Make the original figure's background gradient.
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) the original figure that now has a gradient background.
  • Select the duplicated figure and paste style (Shift+Ctrl+V).

And you'll see that the figures is not equal any more when looking at the gradient background.
It looks like the two objects now shares the location of the gradient handles.

Ok. Voted on that one :)

Until it's fixed, I'll continue using clones instead.

This also seems to affect reusing of gradients. I mean, If I have the name of a gradient for a figure, If I applies the same gradient (name) for another object via the Fill and Stroke dialog box, then the gradient won't be right either. The angle will be incorrect.

Beside using clones, is there any way around?
