Hi,
My wife has a presentation screen to make. I recommended her to use inkscape. I don't use it for myself, but I heard about it.
But she hardly can work with it : it's definitely too slow !
The presentation isn't so big so it can explain this : few text with 2 low-res pictures.
I thought it was about her laptop : a coreduo T2300 with 1.5GB ram under XP (which should be far enough for her work), but on my Phenom II X4 it's the same problem, and it's slow without taking all the processor power.
When I say slow is for example about 2 seconds to make a zoom in / zoom out on the presentation !
I tried under Win7 64b, inkscape 0.48
Is it normal ? is there some tricks ?
Thanks
How can I accelerate Inkscape ?
Re: How can I accelerate Inkscape ?
Are you zooming in a lot, over 1000%? Are you using filters? Filters slow down rendering a lot. There is a display mode No filters you can use to temporarily make filtered objects appear non-filtered, so rendering isn't slow anymore.
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt
