Need help bad.

Postby Endo Fline » Sat Apr 07, 2018 12:36 pm

Hello I’m in need of an Inkscape Tudor. Anyone able to help me out with a file. I can split it up and get the image I pulled from it but can’t make it less than 20kb. I know there is prob an easy way. Can someone use my bmp and make a quick tutorial video and share it back??

Thank you a ton.

If there were a bmp then someone might be able to help...

General hints:

- try to use few nodes
- save as optimized svg, with low precision
- clean up the defs (File -> Clean up document)
- combine paths with identical properties to a single path whereever possible
- sometimes, clones can help

BMP images tend to be quite large. So it might not be possible to make it smaller. Unless you mean "bitmap" which we try to call "raster" (to avoid confusion with BMP). If it's a raster image, such as PNG, it might be possible to make smaller.

Probably we would need the SVG file to start with - assuming you mean that it started out as SVG or other vector format. If it only ever started as a raster image, only a few of us will have the skills to help with that (since Inkscape is primarily a vector editor, and this is an Inkscape forum).

To me, the process described sounded like tracing.

Yes, very few clues, really. Starting to think the op must have found help somewhere else, since it sounded so urgent.
