[solved] Removing Dots from above 'i' in Text

Postby mp73473 » Sun Oct 09, 2016 7:42 am

Hello,

I am trying to remove the dots from above the "i's for a single text word. However, I would like for the text to be a solid color and everything else transparent. Any info. would be appreciated.

Thanks

Never mind, figured out how to do it. Ended up highlighting all the text and selecting "Cut Path" (which released all the letters individually, then "Break Apart" to remove the dot from the "i".

The functionality that was implicitly used here was Path -> Object to Path. This converts objects, like rectangles, circles and texts, into editable paths. Break apart isn't necessarily needed (it also breaks apart the fill areas of letters, like the hole in an o). The paths can be edited using the node tool. Hold Shift down and click on nodes to select them, or drag a selection box around them, then hit Del to remove them.
