First let me introduce myself, my name is David and this will be my 1st hour of using Inkscape. I feel it has a great GUI I just cannot manage to use all of the tools. I was looking to get an image like this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Heartpu ... p1/design/

But everytime I try and make the heart it is filled in black and I have no idea how to make an outlined heart like in the picture without having to freehand draw it. Any help would be much appreciated, this is going to be for my girlfriend for Valentines Day and that is the only reason why I would even bother asking such a newbie question.

Use the Fill and Stroke dialog (Shift+Ctrl+F) to remove the fill and add a stroke.
