Is there a simple way to create a rounded corner of a cube?

This tutorial:

made me think if there are other ways to achieve a roundedness of the three dimensional corner, because no matter how hard I try I can't do it if cube's sides are 100% black, 100% white and 50% gray.

Maybe it can be done somehow with circles?

Hhhm, I've stuggled with making rounded corners as well. I've never been really successful. But I'm curious why having the cube's sides 100% black, 100% white and 50% gray makes it more difficult? But I haven't looked at your file yet. I'll post again later, after I've seen and digested the info :D
