How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
In Inkscape there is no line. When I print it shows up. It's not the printer because I printed in word and line was not there. I attached a picture.

Can you share the svg file, please?

Seems the text is "Flowed", which is not supported by many systems. I'd try converting all text to paths before printing.
FWIW, when I print no24 here, no extra lines are on the print. No extra lines print to pdf here either.

It's also worth mentioning you don't need to drag a box to create text... just click once with the text tool and then type. dragging a box creates flowed-text.

Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
Flowed text shouldn't make a difference for printing, as far as I can guess. It doesn't for me.
I do not get any black bars when I print to pdf. Can you show us how the result looks for you with the example SVG that you uploaded?

The line is still there.
Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
Does it have anything to do with the type of file I saved it as?

(and does it print to pdf correctly? Can you show us how the result looks for you with the example SVG you uploaded?)

I saved it as a .svg file. Is that the norm? Ignore the lines going up and down I know what that's caused by.

If I right-click the file in the folder and print. It prints out a directory line instead of the 24. If I open with Inkscape and print from the file tab it prints 24.
Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
In your photo, which line do you mean? The thin, horizontal one at the top, above the number?

Yes, Inkscape SVG is the correct file format.

If the number doesn't print at all via your right-click menu, you can either print from Inkscape (which you should), or you can modify the text by selecting it, then do Path -> Object to Path. This will turn it into a path that can be read by Windows print programs. Or you can do Text > Convert to Text. That will also turn the incompatible flowed text into something that other programs can read.
For new texts, please create them by clicking, then typing, not by click-dragging a box, then writing in that box.
(I know this has been said before, guys!)

Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
ignore the lines on the number. So you say hit the little A which is the text button and then just click. I typed 24 again and then clicked the select button and it automatically puts a box around the text. So no change there. Moini I did all the things you suggested and no change in the line at the top of the photo. I even saw an option for unflow and no change.

What version of Inkscape? System specs (OS, 32/64 bit, etc.)
You could also try saving a copy as PDF, with conversion of text to paths. Then try printing the PDF.

Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
I'm going to mention I didn't download from the website but instead the Microsoft store because .exe would not install correctly. But I have a windows and 64 bit
Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
So the pdf suggestion works, there is no line but it shouldn't print a random line in Inkscape.
Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
I think I'll give up, I still have no idea which lines you mean. Unless you make a photo, and paint a fat arrow on it, and also explain why you need to use the (maybe faulty, can't tell because I still don't understand the issue) right-click printing option of Windows, I doubt I'll understand your issue.
As I explained, my suggestion is to print from Inkscape. You wrote that works, so why don't you use it?
Or export to some other file format, and print that.
Other programs might not be able to read/print the svg file correctly.
Update: so it prints that line from *Inkscape*? Please print to file, and upload that.

The OP has a thin line near the margin of the paper.
The store version is not quite the same as most:
If the windows 10 is a "normal" version, I'd try the .msi installer.

https://inkscape.org/en/release/0.92.2/windows/If you are using a platform that requires you to install software from Windows Store (e.g. Windows 10 S), or if you prefer to install the store version for some other reason, you can find the official store version of Inkscape here.
Please note that this version is not compatible with regular installations (your settings will be lost).
Functionality may be incomplete and we can only offer limited support.

Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
I don't have a printer, so I can't really help. But I find it interesting that opening the SVG file, "24" is shown as a mirror image. It's entirely backwards! I assume you did not flip it, because I can't think of any reason for it. But I also don't know how that could be part of the problem with the line through the printed image.
I see the page border cuts through the top part of "24", but I can judge if that is relevant since there's no screenshot of the 24 file printed.

Re: How do you remove line that prints with the stuff i print?
If I right-click the file in the folder and print. It prints out a directory line instead of the 24.
Edit: What is a directory line, btw.?
So we are talking about 2 different types of lines?
1.) When you print with the Windows print functionality, you get a black box instead of the text. Right or Wrong? (probably due to flowed text, could be fixed easily, but we haven't heard if that has been tried.)
2.) When you print from Inkscape, you get a black rectangular stroke around the text. Right or Wrong? (if Right: perhaps a look into your printer's settings might reveal the answer - or perhaps not, of course.)
Could you please share a pdf created by 'print to file'?
