Hi, i'm working on a small robot chassis, i have made it on sketch up, though now i would like to print just the 2D top of it, and i would it to have the ''real size'' which is basically a 15cm diameter circle, with some cuts and holes for screws, how should i do this?

If you use the page (letter, A4) frame as a reference, your drawing should be printed with the right scale.

I don't think there is a way to define a drawing to print size ratio in inkscape.

Note that the resolution of Inkscape drawings are 90 dpi, so you can use this to translate between screen dimensions and print dimensions.

I don't understand what you mean by the inkscape drawings are 90dpi? When you export a bitmap, you can choose a resolution which will affect the image size (in pixels, which is not necessarily related with print size), I guess using the page size you have selected as a reference. But how does the drawing itself has got a resolution?

An SVG that is 1 inch by 1inch will display at a size of 90x90 pixels on your screen at 100% zoom.

That's correct. You can choose a different resolution when exporting as a bitmap which will impact it's size. So if you set it 300dpi, your 1 inch image will display at 300x300 pixels on the screen.

Vectors have to have a resolution so the software knows how large to display it, since vectors don't have pixels. In most cases the OSes resolution of 96 dpi is used, but for SVG it's 90 dpi.
