make inches the default automatically on opening Inkscape

Postby ranchhand » Thu May 10, 2018 3:53 am

Greetings...
I am running version 0.92.3
I just want to know how to set the default so that when I boot-up Inkscape the rules on the top and side are in inches.
I know how to set it in the work screen, but it defaults back to metric when I close and reboot later.
I try to set it in File/Document Properties/Page tab as follows: General...inches ; Custom Size...inches
The top and side rulers change to inches. All is fine.
Then I save the project and shut down. Next time I boot-up Inkscape, the rulers and in metric again. I can't make inches the default.
In CorelDraw I have no problem, it instantly makes inches the default until I change it again. Not so in Inkscape.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

You need to set a custom default template, from a document that has the settings you need.
See, for example, http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entr ... n-inkscape .
