Are Inkscape creations print press ready?

Postby SevenFactors » Tue Aug 21, 2012 3:29 am

I am a new Inkscape user & I loving it :D I just got done designing a business card and it got me wondering, are inkscape creations print press ready? The only place in which I see a dpi option is in the bitmap exporting windows and adjusting this increases the size of the business card design. I just want to be able to save my design ready for the print press.

Any help, info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

No, they aren't. You might find this extension helpful: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5943.

Thanks for pointing me on the right direction ^_^ The extension worked as advertise but it only works on Linux. For those on windows only, importing the .svg file into Scribus would be the best solution. I personally didn't try this but I was told this would work just as well.

Anyways, Inkscape is young 0.48.2 so things can only get better.
