how fill without border?

Postby mgo3 » Fri Jan 13, 2012 3:36 am

Hi, I want to fill in with a solid color some delimited areas but without the black border that appear by default. I saw that if I fill with Ctrl key pushed I can fill without border but only sometimes.
Can anybody help me please?

Thanks.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

So you must be using the Paint Bucket tool? After some experimenting, I can't figure out what Ctrl + click is supposed to do (probably because of my preferences). But I found in the Key/Mouse Ref the following:
"Ctrl+clicking an object sets its fill (or stroke with Shift) to the tool's current style; the object need not be selected."

I think the problem is that you have the Paint Bucket tool set for "Last Style Used" (in Inkscape Preferences), and the last time you used it, the style included a stroke.

I suggest using "This tool's own style". Draw a rectangle (or some shape), give it the color that you want to be the Paint Bucket's color all the time, and remove the stroke. Then go back to Inkscape Prefs and click "Take from selection". Now the Paint Bucket will only provide the fill and never the stroke, and if you want a stroke, you can add it later. (Btw, you can do this for all the tools, if you want :D)

Alternatively, you could leave the settings alone, and just remove the stroke if it applies one that you don't want.
