hello there,

i have to do a comic for school. my story takes place in a big city so i have to create buildings and also settings in the city center. i did not find a good tutorial via web so have anybody done something like this and could help me? because i read that you can compile backgrounds with vectors so i hope this will work out someway. lots of thanks for your answers :)

If you'll check the Tricks and Tutorials forum, you'll find some excellent caches of tutorials, as well as many individual gems posted as topics. I don't know specifically if there are any designed to create buildings, but you can certainly pick up the basics you'll need. Particularly I can recommend the websites promoted in this topic: screencasters.heathenx.org (Video tutorials) and in this one: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=56

And for excellent instructions, you should not miss, in the Help menu > Inkscape Manual, the tavmjong bah "Inkscape: Guide to a Vector Drawing"

If I recall, in the Finished Inkscape Work forum, there are some comics made with Inkscape, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a few depicting cityscapes. So you can get an idea what Inkscape can do.
