Hi, i have a problem: if i save in eps (a vector with levels), then open it with illustrator to check compatibility i found only one layer with all the elements grouped. There is a way to preserve levels and levels names when saving in eps?
Thanks
EPS levels
Re: EPS levels
Hi, welcome to the forums! I assume that you mean one and the same thing with levels and layers, right?
Googling' the question resulted in this topic on the Adobe Forums.
Apparently, EPS just doesn't support layers (it's quite an old file format). Do you really need to use this file format, or could you also use something else (preferably SVG)?

Re: EPS levels
Layers are not part of the SVG 1.1 W3C specification, so there is no -standard- method of preserving Layers when moving files between Illustrator and inkscape. Inkscape's Layers implementation is simply an inkscape based (not SVG based) GROUP function enhancement.
Re: EPS levels
yes, layers, sorry:)
yes i need to use eps 8 or eps 10 (it's for a microstock site). I've read the article: but if i open whit illustrator an eps file created with illustrator i see the layers and their original names (for example: "lina art", "background colors" etc)...so this eps data is something bounded to illustrator only?
Thanks
