Brush tool help

Postby turnipx » Mon Oct 07, 2013 10:36 am

Hey guys, I've created an image, now I'm looking to draw some lighting the corners of it. I was wondering if there was a way to use the brush tool, I'd want it to show only the parts of the brush stroke that overlap with the current object. Is something like this possible?

Hi there!

It is certainly possible in a way but probably not exactly how you described.

For example you can draw some light effects -as objects filled with white, and added a bit of transparency to them-,
and, after grouping it with the other object, you can set a clipping, or,
even simpler: set the canvas borders so those unwanted parts won't show up when viewed through a browser
or if saved as a pdf.
You can do that at the document's properties panel (Ctrl+Shift+D).

Another way would be to intersect the light's path with the path's duplicant below it.
