From imported DXF, objects are invisible and unselectable

Postby chrisjj » Tue Apr 09, 2013 3:13 am

Using InskScape V0.48.4 on Win 7 Pro 64-bit:

1) Do File, New
2) Import the DXF created in Vector Engineer Pro-Tools, containing three polylines, from the attached ZIP.
3) Do Select All (CTRL+A), Zoom to fit drawing in window (4)

Expected: three objects
Observed: none. Inkscape reports No objects selected.

Image

This file works fine in other programs e.g. VEPT itself, and Rhino 3D.

Any ideas?

Hi

To preserve layers etc the file has to be "opened" - not imported.
On this file the import fails.
Workaround; Open in Draftsight - Export as SVG.

Aha. I notice the layer drop-down shows twelve layers "0" - "11".

That is indeed what I am reporting! :)

Thanks - I'll try it.

That's odd. I wonder why the first two [quote work, and the third not.

Code: Select all

Hi

The third quote is missing the end quote tag.

Code: Select all

[/quote]

Thanks - that works.

Interestingly loading the DXF and saving DXF in DS increases the size by 5x. So I guess something important was missing :)
