Using InskScape V0.48.4 on Win 7 Pro 64-bit:
1) Do File, New
2) Import the DXF created in Vector Engineer Pro-Tools, containing three polylines, from the attached ZIP.
3) Do Select All (CTRL+A), Zoom to fit drawing in window (4)
Expected: three objects
Observed: none. Inkscape reports No objects selected.
This file works fine in other programs e.g. VEPT itself, and Rhino 3D.
Any ideas?
From imported DXF, objects are invisible and unselectable
Re: From imported DXF, objects are invisible and unseletable
Hi
To preserve layers etc the file has to be "opened" - not imported.
On this file the import fails.
Workaround; Open in Draftsight - Export as SVG.

Aha. I notice the layer drop-down shows twelve layers "0" - "11".

That is indeed what I am reporting!

Thanks - I'll try it.

That's odd. I wonder why the first two [quote work, and the third not.
Code: Select all

Thanks - that works.
Interestingly loading the DXF and saving DXF in DS increases the size by 5x. So I guess something important was missing
