Vectorizing a PNG File

Postby breal » Sat Nov 27, 2010 5:15 am

I have a created a png image that I now want to vectorize so that it can be printed to a shirt. Is there a video tutorial out there that demonstrates how a png file can be cleaned up?

Thanks,
B

I'm not sure what you mean by "cleaned up". But for PNG to SVG, you would use Trace Bitmap from the Path menu. You can find instructions in Help menu > Manual. In my signature is a link to a bunch of video tutorials. I don't know if they have one for Trace Bitmap, but you could look.

Also, if you created the image yourself, you might think about creating it in Inkscape from the start next time. Then you won't need to convert it. Just a thought :D
