Hi
Newbie question obviously. I have a group of vectors from freepik. I want to take one out of the group and then convert it to a png or jpg for a website.
Transparent is better. Love Inkscape. Looking forward to looking back at this post to see how clueless I was.
In the meantime...
My great thanks.

Re: Converting vector to png
I have no idea of the data format of freepik, so cannot help you there.
Would it be possible for you to use freepik and export the graphic to svg?

Re: Converting vector to png
If you can import the graphic from freepik into Inkscape (I guess you already succeeded doing that?), then you may need these functionalities:
- The status bar. It will always tell you what kind of object you have selected (e.g. if it is grouped)
- The selection tool (the first one in the tool bar on the left)
- Ungroup: Ctrl+U or right-click, select ungroup
- Remove undesired stuff: Click to select, then hit Del
- Export to png: File -> Export to png (either export the selection or the whole page)
Hope this helps!

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

Re: Converting vector to png
Success. Thanks Moini. I've gained a level (ping!) Next, how do I get the object to be transparent? When I export it it saves it with a box around it where I selected it.Useful but not as useful as I need.
thanks!
thanks!
Re: Converting vector to png
Can you post the svg file you've got so far and your export result?
Inkscape defaults to a transparent background when using Export to PNG, so there must be something else that causes this.
