Sorry for stupid questions. I'm new to Inkscape and am working with Image for a few days. Go to the morning office and try to open my .svg file. I get a flash that looks like opening the file but then it instanteously closes. I tried the click, double click, open file, recent files, etc. I was stupid and did not have a recent copy of my work. Is my file corrupted and lost or is there a way to open it? I do not know what happened or what I did to cause this. Any help is appreciated

Is this all happening on the same computer? SVG is a text file format, so it can be opened with a text editor and peek inside code to see if it's healthy.

Can you open some other example SVG file? Does the same happen? You have SVG files in your Inkscape installation, or simply search online.

If you can post the SVG file we can take a look and see if it's the file or maybe your installation that is causing this.

Also please report the OS version, Inkscape version, and which method was used to install.

Does Inkscape open on your work computer? I mean, without selecting a file to open first.
