Please forgive me since this is not a purely Inkscape related questions but since many people here are dealing with SVG I find it the most promising location to ask.
I would like to generate SVG files from basically "any" application (in Win7). Kind of a printer which generates SVGs. For PDF there are many programs, but for SVG?
I searched the web and found a few links to different software.
The first one I tried gave error messages during installation, deinstalled all my other printers and did not work.
Before I try more annoying or untrustworthy software I would like to ask whether one of you has good experiences with such "SVG printer driver" or "Virtual SVG printer" or "Print2SVG" or whatever you would call it.
Print to SVG / Virtual SVG Printer
Re: Print to SVG / Virtual SVG Printer
...still nobody has a hint...?
OK, for those who are also searching for possibilities to directly(!) create an SVG from basically any application... (not via two or three different additional programs or EPS, PDF,...)
here is what I found so far:
SVGmaker
Gives very strange outputs although it says on the homepage that the SVGmaker Standard is fully functional in evaluation mode. An advertizing message is overprinted on each page in evaluation mode.
Doesn't work, i.e. completely unusable on my Win7 system with a sheet music program.
Win2PDF
Seems to work on my PC. Although there have been little strange behaviour in some cases. But so far the best software I found to do the job.
If you know better solutions, please let me know.

Re: Print to SVG / Virtual SVG Printer
Another popular pdf printer (PDFcreator) is known to save/print to svg, but BEWARE... it now is likely bundled with spyware/malware.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
