[solved] Can't snap nodes to grid

Oh snap,
I can't use this app
To make a pixel-perfect gap

Hi,

I can't snap nodes to grid when editing an object (F2 :tool_node: ). It works when drawing (Shift+F6 :tool_pen: ).

Is this expected behavior or a known bug?

Hi.

You have to "turn on" the "Snap Nodes Path and Handles - Snap Cusp Nodes, incl rect. corners".

PS: It's interesting to find out that these features are useful to some but it's strange that the default gets changed by installing a new release.

In case it made that impression: I wasn't saying "Outrageous! I have the right to consistent behavior between versions!" :)

But now that I think of it, the setting probably changed was because it would have been extra dev time to set the new two settings based on the old setting rather than just a default.

No, I didn't get that impression. It just seemed like the best explanation to me. Others may have different ideas. (Since most of us are just users, we sometimes don't know all the answers, expecially the more technical ones.)

Off topic:
I'm always the first, and often the loudest to shout about programmers "fixing" things that aren't broken, with every new release or update, for no apparent reason that I can see. It drives me absolutely to distraction! (I swear, there must be a rule at Mozilla, that there has to be a new item in the toolbar, by default, with every release. I think they get bonus points if they can make the new icon unremovable -- Aarrgh!!) (See what I mean -- distraction!) Not that I've ever known Inkscape to do this :D
