The procedure entry point FreeAddrInfoW could not be loca

Postby fliomania » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:29 am

I'm getting the following error when I try to open the inkscape executable application file.
The procedure entry point FreeAddrInfoW could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll
inkscape version 0.48.1
Is inkscape compatible with Windows 2000 pro?

Has anybody else experienced this same issue? and what can i do to resolve it?

Thanks!

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I can't answer your question, but have been searching for Inkscape minimum system requirements, with no success. Could someone please refer us to it? I promise to bookmark it and not lose it, lol!

No. See also bug #624091 in Inkscape: “can´t start inkscape on win 2000”. Install Inkscape 0.47 instead of the latest release on Windows 2000.

Hint: the bug report is No 2 in a simple google search for "inkscape" + the error message string.

Awesome. Before posting here I did a google search, but I didn't find anything. Old age is affecting my eyesight. Thanks a bunch!
