0.91 still seems to have a problem 0.49 had.
I run 64-bit on Windows 7 (64). Printing to a shared Sharp MX2300 printer.
I cannot print directly from Inkscape. If I do, I get solid black background every time. It doesn't
seem to mater what 'raster mode' I select.
This happens with the simplest Inkscape document, e.g. a single rectangle drawn on a blank page.
I can export to PDF and print that OK. Or export a bitmap, but printing direct from Inkscape? Forget it.
I'm puzzled that Inkscapes bug-tracker for 0.91 still doesn't show this as an issue. I can't be the only
one seeing it? Or can I?
Can't print - black background.
Re: Can't print - black background.
Hi.
I am on Win 8.1 using Inkscape 0.91 - b13725.
No problem printing direct from Inkscape to my Canon MG7120 printer.
Might be worth looking at your printer driver or printer settings.
Could it be that your default document have a black clipping element?
Have a look at this thread; viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17048

- Bug #1418865 “[win64] Transparent objects and empty areas print black”

Off topic:
~suv wrote:/me is puzzled this did not turn up in your search
I am equally puzzled when I search for bug reports and can't find bugs that I either know, or am pretty sure already exist. Often, I'm looking for bugs that I reported myself, and I have to resort to opening the last emaill I received about it, to find it. And the terms I used to search are always found within the title and/or text of the report.
For a recent example, I thought I had seen mentioned somewhere about putting 32- or 64-bit on the About screen. But when I searched and didn't find it, I thought it ought to be reported, and posted what turned out to be a duplicate report. And when someone discovered it as a duplicate, they posted a link to the original, and that's how I ultimately found it. And it turns out, the title of the original report contains ALL the words I used to search. Yet, it was not found during my search.
This type of situation has happened to me multiple times, and it's not surprising to me that the op didn't find it. This is an issue that in my opinion is critical, and I wish Launchpad would address it.

Yep. Thanks. Bug #1418865. There it is.
In the meantime, I've worked out that simply dragging the svg onto a copy of Firefox gets me a fast and easy print (although with 'page titles').
