Square/rectangle shapes turn round (solved)

Postby albacrimino » Sat May 09, 2015 8:44 pm

Hi,
I upgrade to Inkscape 0.91 and I found that all the square shapes of my SVG documents are turned into circles (extremely rounded squares). I can reshape into squares but when I reopen the document are rounded again. It also happens when I cluster some squares or rectangles or even when I duplicate them, the new square/rectangle is rounded.
This is probably a new behaviour of Inkscape or something silly, but I can't find the solution.
Any help will be apreciated.
Thanks!

Please post an example svg file, so we can examine.

System details may also be relevant.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Might be related to a bug:

Any chance you are using document in mm units?

Or maybe your answer can be found here: http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/inde ... ;article=5

If none of these seem to help, I think we need more information about what's happening (screenshot, or preferably SVG file, and os). I'm not sure what you mean by "clustering squares and rectangles". Are they clones?

Hi again, and thanks for your time.
It seems to be the way that Inkscape save the preferences about the shapes and the colors of the objects.
I'm on Debian testing and a few days ago I upgrade to Inkscape 0.91. It seems that the default preferences to draw squares and rectangles was Rx 7500,063 / Ry 0,00 and all the squares and rectangles of my old documents turned in circles when I opened with Inkscape 0.91.
I found the solution in here http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/inde ... ;article=5 (thanks brynn, and also tylerdurden) is so simple that I'm a bit embarrassed:
"PROBLEM Rectangle tool is drawing rounded corners and you want them sharp.
SOLUTION Look on the control bar and click this button :src: (far right icon)."
That's it. When I saved the document after make the corners of the rectangle sharp with the far right icon it seems that were saved in preferences and when I open Inkscape again all the squares/rectangles were sharp cornered and not rounded anymore.
Thanks.
