How can you enlarge inkscape?

Postby GnosisMan » Mon Nov 21, 2011 2:21 am

I have poor eyesight and wondering if anyone knows how to enlarge/magnify the Command Bar, Snap Bar, Tool Controls, and Tool Box so that they are easily seen. I can see them quite well on my large monitor but on my lap top they are just too tiny to see hence it's hard to work with them. Thanks

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Oh gosh, I know how you feel! Those icons are tiny! I used to have cataracts, so I know about vision problems all too well. Here are a couple of solutions that I know about.

First, in Inkscape, you can change the size of the icons. Look in Inkscape Preferences > Interface, and you can change the size there. If the largest size is still too small, you might consider changing your screen resolution. That was the best solution for me, because even if I could use the large icons for Inkscape, everything else was still too small. I used the 800 x 600 resolution. Although I guess I don't know what size of laptop you have. But there might be some resolution that will help?

Also, I know that there are magnifyers around. I found one on Windows XP called igfxzoom.exe (or something close to that). It's just like a regular window, and wherever your mouse is on the screen, shows up larger in the magnifying window. And you can set the level of zoom that you want. It's really hard to use with Inkscape though.

All best :D
