Rubber band DEselecting

Postby bartovan » Tue Apr 14, 2015 11:40 pm

A while ago I filed a feature request for rubber-band deselecting in Inkscape (#1431219), without discussing it here actually which seems a pity to me. (I would do it the other way around now).

Does anyone else have ideas about rubber-band deselecting? For instance, if you want to deselect nodes you previously selected, if I'm not mistaken you need to Shift-click on them one by one. Sometimes that's tedious or even very difficult, so I thought that maybe Shift-Ctrl-drag could be used for rubber-band deselecting and Alt-Ctrl-drag for drag deselection?

Any thoughts? Or is it already possible in Inkscape and I don't know how?

I would like have a lasso tool as in blender, and, a way for the selections to be remembered -undoable accidental deselecting-.

However, there is another way to select-deselect -move the cursor over a node and turn the scroll wheel on the mouse.

Interesting, didn't know the scroll wheel trick.
But it doesn't exactly replace rubber-band deselecting of a certain, specific group of nodes you want to deselect.

Lasso would be cool. And saving selections, like in Gimp.
