I'm new to this program and ran almost immediately into a crash just a few minutes after starting the program.
Following the steps I did.
Next to the installation, I clicked "next" to fire up the program.
When the program is ready to use, I created a elips with some colour.
I then put some text within that elips.
The text type was set to "arial"
After this having set, in the proces of adjusting my creation it happened.
Just one or two minutes later the following error message popped up:
runtime error!
this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Operating system is XP Home edition SP3 and 2Gb of memory.
Framework v2, 3, 3.5-SP1 and 4

Did I do something wrong here?
Please help

If you not used the pattern along path function on the ellipse with a long text, I don't see why it would result in a crash.
Did it happened only once, or you ran into it more times?

I too have had a similar problem with Inkscape which I downloaded a few days ago. After 5 to 15 mins the program crashes with the same 'Runtime Error!' message box as described above.

If there is any light on why this is happening and what would be the best way to remedy the problem would be extremely grateful...
