Ok, I just switched from a Windows machine to Ubuntu Studio for my graphics work and ofcorse i am now using InkScape insted of Illustrator. I'm having problems with the Pen Tool (

). What's happening is this, I start the path by clicking on the canvas, now i click and Shift-Drag on another part of the canvas to curve that segment as a Cusp Node. However it looks like the handle that i'm dragging when i use Shift-Drag is the one for the NEXT segment. This is slowing me down allot because i've had to create each segment as a regular nodes, press Enter to 'finish' the path, than use the pen tool to resume drawing the path (this dose what i want. but there is allot of time wasted with extra clicks, and fixing mistakes). Is there any way to get it to work the way it dose in illustrator so that i can curve the 'previous' segment and not the next one? Inkscape is so customizable and robust that i cant imagine that there isnt a way to do this, I must be missing something. I've checked the Manual, FAQs and Tutorials but still cant find anything.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
