Tired of Chrome & Firefox i decided to try other browsers.
Chrome crashes a lot & i cannot get an adware- ads powered by name removed from FF. yes i have completely reinstalled but somehow ads are still there.
So i decided to turn to slimjet & maxthon
Has anyone tried slimjet?
It is based on chromium open source code built and is powered by Blink Engine.
They say its faster and secure
Other features
- Ad blocker
- Download Manager
- option to disable Canvas fingerprinting and WebRTC
etc..
all details here
Slimjet
another one is Maxthon nitro - based on webkit & trident - dual engine
I tried it on windows 10 with some minor issues.
otherwise the browser is good.
- cloud services
- safety by filtering potentially unsafe websites
Maxthon
please suggest which one should i keep and delete all others. I need keep only one. Chrome will be there if there is an emergency but i want a better default browser.
If you guys have any other suggestions please do let me know.
Thanks
anyone tried slimjet or maxthon browser?

For Firefox, you can get addons (or plugins, they seem to use both words for the same thing) to block ads. Firefox won't block ads without a plugin to do it. I can tell you that AdBlock Plus with the Easy List filter works very, very well. And you can even contact the people who manage the filters (at least with that Easy List filter) if you see ads coming through, and they will add them to the block list (filter). I actually did that with the ads for this very site, and it was blocking the ads on this site, when nothing else would block them.
I don't know anything about the other browsers.
However, if ads are your main concern, and you are on Windows, you should set up your HOSTS file. That's bar none the best ad blocker I've ever seen. And it won't matter which browser you use. All ads will be blocked! (Well, assuming you practice relatively safe browsing. If you're going to por* sites and such, no one can keep up with blocking those. But for regular internet use, it's great.) But, it only works on Windows.

Use slimjet all the time.
12.06.0 in this kubuntu machine and older 32 bit versions on a linux netbook and my 32 bit PCLOS desktop.
A little heavy on resources but very configurable.
