Can't find libgc

Postby daviddoria » Wed Jun 29, 2011 1:20 am

When configuring Inkscape, I got an error that said it needed libgc6.4+. I built and installed to a location on PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH gc6.8. I then reconfigured Inkscape and there was no change.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

David

Can I assume that you compiled Inkscape?

I'm sorry. This seems to be the sort of question suv~ would answer. But some details on your system, how the software was compiled, etc., would be useful.

I am trying to compile it, but the configuration step is failing. I am on RHEL 5.6 64bit.

Ah, now I understand you more clearly. You're running ./configure and you're snagging at the request to have the libraries for libgc.

Since I'm running Ubuntu GNU/Linux 10.10, I'm afraid I can't be of service here. I too compiled Inkscape 0.48.1 and made sure every one of the libraries was fully installed. However your list and mine will vary. I installed libgc-dev which is listed at version 1.6.8-12ubuntu2. I don't know if that'll be any help to you.
