There are plenty of websites that will host your images at no charge. Here's a few I'm familiar with:

Not currently. The forum only accepts BBCode, no HTML. I would have to create some custom BBCode to allow embeding of images from deviantArt. I believe deviantArt is a great resource for artists so I'll see what I can do to accomodate it.

microugly: If you get it so we can embed images from DA, and if you think your server can handle a decent user load, I'll make a journal post on the inkscape & inkscapers accounts to let the DA Inkscape community know about the forums here. That would give this place a decent shot in the arm. But, I would personally feel more comfortable if when the announcement is made if you could disable people posting as "guest".

da BBCode has been added to allow displaying of DeviantArt work. But hold off on announcing anything, if you don't mind. I have a couple of inactive accounts that has me concerned that e-mails are still not reliable getting out.

I'm more than happy to discuss "guest" users. What's your concern about guest posting? If it were abused, I would gladly turn it off. It's a feature I've enabled for now to encourage activity on the forum until the content and membership builds up. Once the community is established the ability to post as a guest would be re-evaluated.
