saving preferences

Postby Terry50 » Sat Nov 29, 2014 8:05 pm

Hi, :D
The preferences are gone when I reopen a file. !!

I open a new file. I draw a few lines. I set the stroke style width at .2 px.
I go to Inkscape preferences. I select pencil and pen. The stroke reads "Unset".
I go to my file and select a line. I go to preferences and click "Take from selection."
In the preferences window, .20 appears by stroke which used to say unset.

I save the file. I open the file. The line I drew is still .20; but the new lines are back to 1.0.
I check the preferences window. The preferences are back to Unset.

Is this right? Do you have to reset all the preferences every time you open a file?

Thank you.
Terry

Do you have the radio button ticked for "This tool's own style"?

Those values should be persistent.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
