Can't paste text into a rectangle copied from my browser
Re: Can't paste text into a rectangle copied from my browser
You need to choose the text tool (F8) before, and create a new text object (click on the canvas).
Then pressing Ctrl+V or right click/paste will do the trick.
Pasting into a rectangle? Well it works with flowed texts too.

That's all well and good BUT if we could figure it out for ourselves, we wouldn't need forums or for that matter, teachers and professors, would we?

Off topic:
That's just a friendly reminder to myself that my stubborn way of learning, avoiding the "academic" way is/was not totally worthless, but benefited me with more experience. Didn't mean to be ignorant with those starting to learn inkscape the other way, though I do see that most cases the original posters of topics in this section would learn much more if not asking at the first place.
I have been in my studies way too much so that I see teachers and professors have no sense how their rather theoretic knowledge has less to do with real life practice. I would rather learn from craftsmen than professors.
