How to create a transparent background

Postby borghe » Tue Apr 27, 2010 12:18 am

Hi everybody!
I am new in this forum and I am new in Inkscape. I have created a logo in .svg and in .png but I can't understand how to create a transparent background. I use Inkscape on a Mac but I can also use Windows.
So please let me know how to do because it's very important for me the transparent background :-)

Thanks a lot!

Inkscape's default background color is full transparency, even though canvas looks white. Does your png have spaces without objects where the background shows through so you can check it?

I think you may have created an SVG file in Inkscape and then "saved as (cairo) PNG" and found that you lost the transparency. The correct way to save a PNG with transparency is to use the 'Export as bitmap" option.
Your mind is what you think it is.
