How to disable the “corner to corner” feature in inkscape?

Postby milarepa » Mon Dec 08, 2014 5:55 pm

Every time I want to place an image near another in inkscape, is trying to position it close to one of its corner. I could avoid this using the Shift key, but how can I disable that feature so I don't need to press the shift key which is annoying.

That sounds like Snapping. Find Snap control bar: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... atomy.html Other controls for snapping, when you're ready to use it: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... pping.html.

Although snapping is not toggled with Shift..... Unless you have an older version of Inkscape. I think an early version of snapping used Shift to disable it. But it could be coincidence that the shift key disrupts it. I remember when I first started to learn Inkscape. There's a lot of info to take in!

Thank you for your insight into snapping, I am now able to disable it.
