change color of clone

Postby stoopidhead » Fri May 09, 2014 4:11 am

I made a clone but I can't get it to be a different color than the source. I redd somewhere that I have to unset the color of the source object. But I can't get Google to even use the word "unset!"

Can anyone tell me what to do? :(

If possible, please tell me where to find stuff you might suggest. My eyesight is poor and I'm severely dyslexic.

Edit → Clone → Image Unlink Clone (Shift+Alt+D): Remove link between clone and original object. Clone will no longer update when original object is modified.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

I realize this is an older topic but I was looking for the same answer and found this:

You can simply set the color of the original to "Unset" then you'll be able to independently adjust the clone color.
